An RTA, or registrar and transfer agent, keeps a fund house's record of who holds which units and processes investors' transactions.
A fund house does not keep its own register of investors. It appoints a registrar and transfer agent, registered with SEBI, to do that work. In India, two registrars serve almost every fund house: CAMS and KFintech.
The registrar:
Each fund house uses one registrar for all its schemes, so the registrar you deal with depends on the fund house. Each registrar's website lets you see and download statements for all the fund houses it serves.
The two registrars together run MF Central, where you can see holdings across all fund houses and make many changes once for every folio. Their KYC arms, CAMS KRA and KFintech KRA, are two of the five KRAs.
MF Central is the official platform run by CAMS and KFintech. One login to see, buy, switch and redeem funds across fund houses.
A statement of the gains you realised in a financial year, split into short and long term. Where to download it and what it is used for.
Each fund page has its returns, risk, costs, managers and everything it holds.
