Mid caps are the companies ranked 101st to 250th by full market value on AMFI's half-yearly list.
AMFI ranks listed companies by their full market value, averaged over the previous six months, and publishes the list every January and July. The companies ranked 101st to 250th are mid caps: 150 businesses between the large caps above them and the small caps below.
Mid caps are often established companies that are still growing, or leaders in a smaller industry. Their shares trade less than those of large caps, and their prices have usually swung more, both up and down.
Funds that hold mid caps:
A company can move between groups when the list is revised, so a stock bought as a mid cap may later count as a large or small cap. Funds then have a month to bring their holdings back within their category's rules.
Each fund page has its returns, risk, costs, managers and everything it holds.
